Seoul-searching: Jacob Rascon explores South Korea's capital city of Seoul

SEOUL, South Korea – South Korea is home to about 50 million people, about half of whom live in and around Seoul, its capital city.

Seoul is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Asia. So we went Seoul-searching.

Our journey begins with a ride on the Seoul train, which travels 90 minutes from Pyeongchang to the capital at up to 190 mph, providing is one of the best views of the city

Where are the best places to eat?

Authentic Korean restaurants are everywhere you look in Insadong

"These are rice cakes. These are delicious. Oh, my gosh, they are so good," Jacob Rascon said.

When you really get lost in Seoul, you discover hidden treasures, such as coin Norah Bung.

In English, that's coin karaoke room, where you pay $1 for three songs. It's just you, the mic, a disco ball and the music.

At the city center, the Pyeonchang Winter Games are heavily promoted and politicized.

And then I ran into Houstonians -- not just any Houstonians, but Olympian Ashley Caldwell and her family.

It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable trip.

I guess now I can say I’m a Seoul man.

This is my first trip to Korea and I have been impressed with how kind the people are, and how much respect they show to everyone. They are always saying "hello," "goodbye," and "thank you," with a bow.
