Community remembers man shot, killed trying to help shooting victim outside father's store

Rahman Rupani, 30, dead after shooting

HOUSTON – A community is remembering a man who was shot and killed trying to help a shooting victim outside his father's store.

Surveillance video released Saturday shows the moments that led up to a fatal shooting.

The man who the Harris County Sheriff's Office said shot and killed Rahman Rupani is on the run.

Investigators said Judas Deluna killed Rupani and also shot two others who survived, including a man who was shot in the leg.

The father of two died at the hospital. He was 30.

Rupani's family is mourning the loss of their loved one.

"My brother was everything for my mom," said Muniza Kabani, Rupani's sister. "My mom is not going to be able to live without him ... This is a very big loss for my family,"

Investigators said Deluna shot Rupani after shooting someone else. Rupani rushed to help that man, and in the process, he too was shot.

The Sheriff's Office released surveillance video Saturday of the three men wanted, including Deluna, and also the black Lincoln Navigator in which they sped off.
