HOUSTON – An officer is recovering in the hospital after getting hit by a car in southeast Houston.
Officers were called to a Walgreens on Bellfort Street at Broadway Street after a clerk called to report a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot, according to police.
Investigators said when the officer arrived, the suspect put the car in reverse and hit the officer.
The suspect then put the car in drive and slammed into another vehicle, investigators said.
The second crash disabled the suspect’s car and they jumped out of the car and ran away, investigators said.
The officer is in the hospital in stable condition.
Officers said they will be searching for the suspect.
