United flight to Houston from Tampa forced to make emergency landing

TAMPA, Fla. – A United Airline flight was forced to make an emergency landing Wednesday after possibly being hit by birds.

Flight 164 was headed to Houston from Tampa, Florida around 6:45 a.m. with 122 passengers and six crew members on board, United said.

The plane returned to the Tampa International Airport and made a safe landing. Officials said no one was hurt.

The airline is working to accommodate passengers. 

The plane is being evaluated by mechanics.
