Woman accused of stealing packages off doorstep in NW Harris County
Packages contained toys for homeowner's grandchildren
HARRIS COUNTY – An accused package thief was caught in Northwest Harris County the same day she allegedly swiped a delivery from a doorstep, authorities said.
The theft was reported Dec. 4 in a neighborhood on Wincrest Court near Louetta Road.
A woman called the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office and said she saw a woman stealing packages from her neighbor's porch. The packages, which had been dropped off by UPS earlier in the day, contained toys for the homeowner's grandchildren.
The witness gave deputies a description of the woman and her vehicle, as well as a partial license plate.
Deputies began searching the area and stopped a vehicle matching the description just outside the neighborhood.
Investigators said the witness identified the driver whom they pulled over, Jessica L. Jordan, 28, as the woman who stole the packages.
Jordan was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft.
