TUCSON, Ariz. – An Arizona woman is organizing a Clown Lives Matter rally, saying she wants to give people a positive perception of clowns after the recent clown scares across the country.
A flyer about the Clown Lives Matter event was posted to Facebook and reads, "We want the public to feel safe, and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug!"

Scary clown sightings and threats have sparked fear around the country. People who work as clowns and clown supporters are concerned that the incidents are giving their profession a bad name. Even Stephen King came to their defense.

The clown incidents have prompted many schools in the Houston area to increase security. Police have made several arrests, identifying teenagers who have made threats on social media.
