Bus headed to Sacramento hits sign pole

A California highway is shut down Tuesday morning after a charter bus crash killed at least five people, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The bus crashed into a sign pole about 3:35 a.m. on northbound Highway 99 in Livingston, KCRA reported.

 

There were at least 30 passengers on the bus, which was headed from Southern California to Sacramento.

 

No additional details have been released.
