Denim company Levi's has teamed up with the Harvey Milk Foundation to create a gender-neutral clothing line for Pride month.
The new line is expected to launch later this year just in time for Pride month and is designed to honor late activist Harvey Milk, according to an article on newnownext.com.
The back of the tank tops and shirts will include a timeline of important LGBT dates. The denim clothes will have a rainbow patch attached with quotes from Milk. One quote on a denim jacket reads:
"Hope will never be silent."
This year's Levi's Pride collection will be the first time it will be distributed worldwide.
"Our company is not afraid to take a stand on the important issues of our time. From supporting policies ensuring equality for the LGBTQ community, to the Levi Strauss Foundation’s support of LGBTQ advocacy organizations around the world, to employee participation in the annual SF Pride Parade – celebrating LGBTQ rights is a part of our DNA," according the Levi Strauss website.
Part of the proceeds from the sales will go to the Harvey Milk Foundation to help fund the fight for LGBT issues in the future.
