HOUSTON – Nearly 30 animals rescued in Matagorda County by the Houston Humane Society are available for adoption.
25 dogs, seven rats and a ball python were rescued from a Bay City home on Jan. 28. The dogs were found in small wire cages, covered in their own filth and suffering from severe dental diseases.

The Houston Humane Society says 20 dogs and seven rats are available for adoption starting Thursday, and will have a special card on their kennel to let adopters know they were recently rescued. The ball python was sent to a reptile rescue.
