2 men charged in Galveston burglary of 94-year-old woman's home

GALVESTON, Texas – Two men have been arrested in relation to a home invasion that involved a 94-year-old woman.

Roger Goodwin and Richard Murray were already in the Galveston County Jail facing unrelated charges on Thursday when they were identified as the suspects of the crime in relation to the home invasion that happened on November 2 at 3926 Ave K.

According to officials, during the invasion Rosalie Smith was physically restrained while she was robbed.

Officials say the two men were said to have boasted about the robbery and had attempted to sell Smith's stolen jewlery.

Both Goodwin and Murray are charged with 2nd degree felony robbery and have bonds set as $250,000 each.

"I am proud of all of the divisions within our department who came together to bring the suspects in the heinous crime to justice. We would also like to thank the public for their assistance with our investigation," said Chief Henry Porretto.
