AUSTIN – The reward for a sex offender on the "Texas 10 Most Wanted" list has been raised.
Officials said the reward for information leading to the capture of Charles Leon Carr, 56, during the month of October has increased to up to $13,000.

Authorities said in 1975, Carr was sentenced to 99 years in prison for the violent sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Abilene. He was released from prison in 2008 and disappeared in 2009.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, criminal history includes sexual assault of a child, transportation of unlawful aliens and theft. He is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for probation violation and by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles for parole violation.
Carr's last known residence was in Austin. He is believed to have ties to El Paso.
Officials said Carr could be working in air conditioning repair, refrigerator repair, machine operation, data entry or as a laborer.
Carr is described as 6 feet tall and 190 pounds. His tattoos include a skull on his outside upper right arm and skull/dagger/roses on his outside upper left arm. He also has an operation scar on the inside of his right knee and a cut scar inside his right hand.
Anyone with information on Carr's whereabouts can submit an anonymous tip in four different ways:
- Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
- Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
- Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
