Clear Brook High School student accused of writing threat on restroom wall

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – A student has been arrested in connection with a threat found on a restroom wall of a high school in Friendswood, school district officials said.

Clear Creek Independent School District officials said the threat was found at Clear Brook High School last week. It was directed toward an assistant principal, officials said.

The writing indicated something would happen on Thursday, but nothing did, officials said.

"We investigate all kinds of threats, even if they're on a restroom wall," school district spokeswoman Elaina Polsen said.

The principal sent several messages to parents that said, in part, "We will always err on the side of caution when it comes to the safety of our students and staff at Clear Brook High School. As a precautionary measure, we have increased security at our school after a written threat was found on a restroom wall."

The student, who has not been identified, will face disciplinary action from the school and criminal charges.

The motive for the threat has not been released.
