Homeowner shoots naked man choking dog

Suspect taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with gunshot wound

MIAMI – A Miami homeowner shot at a naked man he found in his yard choking his dog on Wednesday morning, police said.

According to police, at around 5 a.m., residents of the home located at 175 N.W. 56th Street were awoken by their barking dog. When one of the residents went outside to investigate, he found the naked man choking the dog and tried to intervene.

That's when the suspect began to bite the resident, who responded by shooting the suspect striking him once.

When officers arrived, the suspect continued to fight with the victim and with responding officers.

The suspect was finally subdued and brought into custody. He refused to provide his identity and was transported to JMH Ryder Trauma Center to be treated for a gunshot wound. His condition is not known.

The victim was treated for his injuries.

The suspect was arrested and faces charges of: Burglary with an Assault There-in, Resisting Arrest with Violence. Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, Animal Cruelty.
