Police: Man uses fake credit cards to buy electronics

HPD: Man tends to use bogus cards at Best Buy stores

HOUSTON – Detectives need help finding a man suspected of buying electronics with other people's money.

Houston police said the man put stolen credit card information on fake credit cards and then went shopping.

The man has bought thousands of dollars worth of electronics, including iPads and digital credit cards, and gift cards, detectives said.

Police said the man has used the bogus credit cards at these stores:

  • Feb. 1: Best Buy, 9670 Old Katy Road
  • Feb. 1: Best Buy, 16980 Southwest Freeway
  • Feb. 5: Best Buy, 5133 Richmond Ave.
  • Feb. 5: Best Buy, 13238 Northwest Freeway
  • Feb. 5: Best Buy, 510 Gulfgate Center Mall
  • Feb. 7: Game Stop, 510 Gulfgate Center Mall

The man was described as white, 40 to 60 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170 to 210 pounds.

The man has been seen driving a white Porsche Cayenne.
