BEACH CITY, Texas – A community in Chambers County is on alert after residents reported seeing a big cat in the area.
Several people in Beach City, including the mayor, say they spotted the animal near Cedar Gully Road within the past few days. They say it looks like a bobcat or a mountain lion.

Mayor Billy Combs says he saw it Thursday night.
"I realized it wasn't a coyote," Combs said. "It was a very large gray cat, larger than the coyotes I've seen around here. I'm not a cat expert and can't say what kind it was. But I'm pretty sure it's not someone's house cat."
Combs sent an email to his residents, warning them of the possible danger.
