1 killed in rush-hour collision

HOUSTON - One person was killed and others were hurt in a collision in west Houston.

Houston police said the wreck, involving at least four vehicles, happened in the northbound lanes of state Highway 6 near Westheimer Road about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

One person died, officials said. Information about that person has not been released.

Life Flight was called out to take at least one person to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Investigators have not said how many people were injured.

Part of state Highway 6 and Westheimer were closed while police investigated and crews cleared the wreckage.
