1 in custody, 2 on the run after chase in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – One is in custody and two others are on the run after they led police on a chase in southeast Houston.

The pursuit started on the 5000 block of Sunflower around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Houston Police Department officers said they tried to pull over a truck they believed was involved in a robbery the day before.

The driver did not stop, took off and led police on chase northbound on Cullen.

The pursuit ended on New York and Cosby streets and three menjumped out the truck and fled on foot.

HPD Helicopter and K-9 assisted in the search for the suspects. One was taken into custody and the other got away.

Police said they found an AK-47 inside the truck.
