Tragedy has unfortunately struck the Houston area once again after gunfire rang out at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church on Sunday. Many details surrounding the shooting have not yet been revealed however we know that a 5-year-old child is now in critical condition, a 56-year-old man was hit by gunfire and the suspect was shot and killed. The Houston area typically sees peak respiratory illnesses around this time of the year. Right now, flu and RSV diagnoses have leveled off and trending flat. However, the majority of flu cases in the most recent 5-week period are kids between the ages of 5 to 17. Weekly COVID-19 diagnoses are tending slightly upward.
