If you like high-end luxury clothing, but you don't like the high price tags, you may want to stop by the Luxury Garage Sale pop-up shop. It's not your normal garage sale. You'll need more than petty cash, but you can find clothes and handbags up to 90 percent off what you would pay retail.
Chanel, Valentino and Missoni are luxury labels that can fetch thousands of dollars at department stores. Luxury Garage Sale owner Brielle Buchberg said most items are marked down between 20% and 90% off those original prices.
"I mean this actually was not worn before," Buchberg told consumer reporter Amy Davis, holding a Missoni jacket. "So it has its retail tag for $4000 and then our price is $500, so that's a really substantial discount."
Buchberg opened Luxury Garage Sale in Dallas seven years ago as a traditional brick and mortar consignment store. The location in Houston's Rice Village at 2528 Amherst will only stick around through Nov. 15. They'll replenish the inventory every week with men's and women's clothing, shoes, accessories and handbags. Some items are brand new from boutiques, but most are consignment pieces. The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m.
