First-responders helping with Harvey offered freebies around Houston

HOUSTON – Police, deputies, firefighters and paramedics have all been working non-stop since Hurricane Harvey began dumping massive amounts of rain over Houston.

Many local business owners are showing their gratitude for the men and women who have had to spend time away from their own families to help others.

McDonald's restaurants in the greater Houston area are feeding first responders for free as a thank you to those who risked their lives to help residents during the devastating floods. Now through Sept. 5, if first responders stop by any local McDonald's with an ID, the meal is free.
