A ditch clean up took place in southwest Houston. Volunteers focused on the Bering Ditch where they said some trash has been illegally dumped.

CONROE – It has been over a century since an African American cemetery has been lost in Conroe. Over the past several years, The Conroe Community Cemetery Restoration Project has been working to clean up, restore and preserve the cemetery. It was simply known as the Conroe Cemetery, No-Name Cemetery or the Community Cemetery, among the older African Americans in Conroe. John Meredith, the treasure for the Conroe Community Cemetery Restoration Project, says they’ve discovered 38 marked graves and 111 unknown graves so far. LAKE CHARLES – Without power and low accessibility to gas and other essentials, residents in Lake Charles and surrounding communities band together as they begin the long road to recovery. Nearly every street in Lake Charles shows the devastation of Hurricane Laura, which stormed through Wednesday night. However, residents and volunteers, coming from as far as Texas, came together to help families clean up their homes and businesses littered with debris. While one local man cooked food for anyone in need.
