In her 9th-grade essay, Yeardley Love wrote about what she wanted to do with her life: to attend the University of Virginia, to play lacrosse there, to become a lawyer and to maintain her close relationship with her family. Many of her dreams came true, but ended abruptly and violently when she was brutally beaten by her boyfriend, a lawyer for Love's family told a jury Tuesday in the civil trial of the man convicted in her killing. George Huguely V was convicted of second-degree murder and is serving a 23-year prison sentence in Love's slaying.

Father walks daughter down the aisle after recovering from freak accident
HOUSTON – John Sanborn is a devoted father and veteran that has been working since 2018 to regain his strength after a freak accident that leads to traumatic brain injuries. On Sunday, Sanborn walked his oldest daughter, Janine Le, down the aisle at Houston’s Centennial Garden’s Park. Christian nonprofit provides Thanksgiving boxes for over 900 families in Houston
HOUSTON – With Thanksgiving less than a week away, a Christian nonprofit organization is making sure families have what they need. The Forge for Families Center held its seventh annual Boxes of Love event on Saturday. Over 900 families received boxes of food with all of the trimmings and a Carnegie hen. Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church has participated in the Boxes of Love event for the past six years. Saturday was the last day for the food boxes.

“It starts small,” Love said about the number of people who showed up at the protest outside the acclaimed restaurant in the heart of Chicago’s Michigan Avenue business district. "Up to 30% of people who are allergic to dogs are actually allergic to one specific protein that's made in the prostate of a dog," said Dr. Lakiea Wright, an allergist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. "If you're allergic to only that specific protein in the male dog, you may be able to tolerate a female or a neutered dog," Wright said. Spoiler: Because all dogs make one or more types of proteins, there truly is no such thing as a "hypoallergenic" dog, Wright said.
