HOUSTON – The wait is finally over, Texas finally has Michelin star restaurants! The Michelin Guide announced over the summer that its anonymous inspectors would visit restaurants in Houston, along with other cities in Texas.
Houston was specifically chosen as the host city for the 2024 Michelin Guide Ceremony on Nov. 11.

“We are delighted to be hosting the inaugural MICHELIN Guide Texas Ceremony in the vibrant city of Houston,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The MICHELIN Guides. “Houston is full of culinary innovation and world-class hospitality, which goes hand in hand with our values at The MICHELIN Guide. Together with Houston First, as well as the support of Travel Texas, we look forward to an evening of celebration as we toast to the restaurants that our Inspectors have chosen to award in Texas.”
With one of the United States’ most dynamic food scenes boasting world-class dining, it said Houston proved to be the perfect fit for the first Michelin Guide Texas Ceremony.
Chefs were invited to discover whether their restaurants received a MICHELIN Star or another MICHELIN Guide distinction.
Winners and the first-ever Texas selection were announced at 7 p.m.
Six Houston restaurants came away with Michelin One Star Awards Monday evening.
