AUSTIN, Texas – Austin's HOPE Outdoor Gallery will be moving from its downtown location three years after gallery officials said it was expected to move due to rising property taxes.

The art park project on Baylor Street was always a temporary location, gallery organizers said.

The gallery will move to a permanent home at Carson Creek Ranch this year.

Here are some things gallery officials want people to know:

  • Since 2010, HOG was always meant to be a three- to five-year temporary art project on Baylor Street.
  • They said their property owners were always their biggest supporters and paid the rising property taxes each year.
  • The property owners helped the gallery remain on Baylor Street three years longer than planned by paying the rising property taxes.
  • HOG searched for a permanent location from 2014-2017 using onsite data, input from artists and community feedback in this survey.
  • The permanent location was announced in November 2017.

Carson Creek Ranch is about 7.5 miles away from the Baylor Street location.

Carson Creek Ranch is the host venue for Euphoria Festival.
