Managers sifted through 125 applications before completing their 24-member all-male staff. The owner of the eatery, Rodney Duke, says he contemplated for 10 years why there wasn't a male equivalent to Hooters before he finally decided to create one.
Although the outfits of tight-fitting short shorts and tank tops are similar, there is an important distinction. Unlike Hooters, at Tallywackers, diners are given the opportunity to choose their waiter before being seated.
Currently, Tallywackers only has one location, in Dallas, but Duke says he plans to open an additional location in Houston in the future.
