Houston Texans QB Ryan Fitzpatrick traded to New York Jets

HOUSTON – Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been traded to the New York Jets, according to reports.

ESPN reports the Texans received a late-round conditional draft pick in exchange.

The news comes one day after the team officially re-signed QB Ryan Mallett.

KPRC 2 Sports reports the Texans Wednesday signed former Browns QB Brian Hoyer, who was in Houston to meet with team officials.

Fitzpatrick went 6-6 for the Texans last season.

Second-year QB Tom Savage remains on the roster. The Texans traded Case Keenum to the Rams on Tuesday.
