HOUSTON – Digital billboards will be displayed in Texas cities that sent volunteers to Houston last week so members of the Houston Fire Department could attend the memorial service for the four fallen firefighters.

Firefighters from across the state -- including Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Conroe, Baytown, Whitehead, Carrolton and Sugar Land -- volunteered their time and traveled to Houston to fill in for our local firefighters. All will be thanked through the Clear Channel Outdoor digital billboard messages.

On May 31, four firefighters lost their lives and 14 were injured in a massive 5-alarm blaze at the Southwest Inn. Those brave souls were honored last Wednesday in a memorial service at Reliant Stadium.

One of those injured firefighters -- Capt. William Dowling -- remains in critical condition in the hospital.

The investigation continues into the cause of the blaze.
