HOUSTON – Two men have been accused of stealing iPods to sell online.
James Vickers, 20, and Kaine Garcia, 18, have been charged with organized retail theft.
Houston police said the pair was captured on surveillance video stealing iPods from a southeast Houston Walmart store on July 12 and July 20.
Detectives said Vickers opened display cases and handed the iPods to Garcia.
The two were seen on surveillance video walking to another area of the store to remove security tags, police said. They then walked out of the store with the iPods, bypassing the cash registers.
According to court documents, police tracked the two down after they got a license plate number off surveillance video.
Police said Garcia admitted to the thefts.
The motive was to sell the iPods on Craigslist and Facebook to make quick cash, police said.
