Owen Conflenti joined Local 2 on Aug. 15, 2005. He's currently an anchor on Local 2 News at 4:30 a.m., 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.
He moved to Houston from Greenville, N.C., where he was weekend anchor and reporter at WNCT-TV.

His broadcast career, which includes jobs in television and radio, has also taken Owen to Los Angeles, Boston and Pittsburgh.
Moving is nothing new to Owen, who grew up in New York City after being born in Pittsburgh. He also lived in Santa Fe, N.M., as a teenager before moving back to Pittsburgh. Owen earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Emerson College in Boston.
He really enjoys life as a journalist.
"(My favorite thing is) the constant change. There's something new every day. I also love covering storms. Mother Nature can be bipolar. She shows her mean side one minute and her soft side the next. It all makes for great stories and amazing pictures," Owen said.
Owen said he knew he was at the right station from his first day on the job.
"I did a preview of our 'Time 2 Kick the Habit' campaign, bringing doctors from M.D. Anderson to a live phone bank to help Houstonians quit tobacco. I knew I was in the right place because Local 2 does more than just report the news," he said.
When he's not going to bed early to be ready for Local 2 News at 5 a.m., Owen loves spending time with his family and friends.
At home, you would probably find Owen recording music, cooking (his grandmother's meatballs are a favorite) or playing on the computer.
Owen is passionate about sports -- and beating KPRC Local 2 meteorologist Anthony Yanez at golf. They play in various charity tournaments throughout the year and have yet to win any of them.
