The man who took his daughter from a day care and then led police on a chase through northwest Harris County is accused of killing his baby girl while arguing with her mother over a cellphone, according to court documents.

Half-naked man arrested after chase ends in standoff in north Houston, deputies say
HOUSTON – Authorities said a man who surrendered half-naked after an hours-long standoff and chase is now in custody. Deputies said the incident happened Wednesday in the parking lot behind a hotel along the North Freeway and Parker Road. According to investigators, the chase started out of Huntsville after a traffic violation around 1 a.m. Police said the suspect was reported to be armed. At some point during the chase, troopers performed a pit maneuver on the suspect who then spun out and later drove away before parking behind the hotel, officials said. Deputies said he got out of the truck naked from the waist down and was arrested.

HCSO: Baytown home burns down during SWAT standoff
A standoff between a Harris County sheriffs SWAT unit and a barricaded man ended in a house fire. The suspects sister, who reported the weapons disturbance, told authorities her brother was acting erratically. During the course of the standoff, the Harris County Sheriffs Office obtained an arrest warrant for the aggravated assault on a peace officer. A Harris County sheriffs SWAT team attempted to breach the house when they noticed flames coming from the attic. During that incident, deputies recovered some weapons from his residence and he was sent to a mental health unit.
