SWAT standoff at Santa Fe apartment ends with suspect in custody; man allegedly fired gun at girlfriend

SANTA FE, Texas – A suspect is in custody after a SWAT standoff at an apartment complex in Santa Fe.

The incident started around 10:45 a.m. and happened at a complex off 11th Street.

Santa Fe police say there was a dispute between a girlfriend and boyfriend who live together. She was reportedly packing up her things to leave when the man fired a gun at her.

Police say the man missed and the woman was able to escape uninjured. She then called 911.

A little after 7 p.m., a KPRC 2 photographer captured images as the suspect was led down the stairs of the apartment in handcuffs. An EMS crew was waiting at the bottom of the stairs, but it is unclear if the suspect was injured or what kind of injuries he may have had.
