One Texas town is hoping to prove everything really is bigger and merrier in the Lone Star State this Christmas.
Boerne, located in the Texas Hill Country, is a finalist in the Hallmark Channel’s Merriest Christmas Town contest, giving Texans a chance to rally behind a local favorite and help bring home the holiday title.

Boerne transforms into a holiday destination during the Christmas season, with its historic downtown lined with twinkling lights, decorated storefronts and festive events.
The town’s Hill Country Mile serves as the centerpiece of the holiday celebrations. Storefronts are decorated with garlands and wreaths, while thousands of white lights illuminate the downtown area.
One of Boerne’s biggest holiday traditions is A Dickens Celebration, an annual event that brings a Victorian-style Christmas to the Hill Country.
Visitors can see performers dressed in Victorian costumes, horse-drawn wagons, musicians, and entertainers throughout downtown. Families can also visit Santa and take part in other holiday activities.
But supporters say it’s not just the decorations and events that make Boerne a contender.
The town’s close-knit community and local businesses help create the kind of small-town Christmas atmosphere that feels straight out of a holiday movie.
From tree-lighting ceremonies and Christmas markets to holiday concerts and decorated shops, residents and visitors celebrate throughout the season.
The Texas Hill Country also provides a festive backdrop, with cool December evenings, oak-covered hills, and glowing fireplaces adding to the holiday atmosphere.
Hallmark’s contest allows people to vote once per person per day.
Voters will need to verify their email address once to ensure their selection is counted.
