Brazos County confirms case of West Nile, travel-related case of Dengue fever
BRYAN, Texas โ Brazos Countyโs health department confirmed Monday a case of West Nile and a travel-related case of Dengue fever. The county reported its first positive West Nile case in ZIP code 77803. The case of Dengue fever was found in ZIP code 77808 in a person who had traveled to Mexico. Symptoms of West Nile include headache, fever, body aches, joint pain, nausea and fatigue. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, symptoms of Dengue fever include nausea, vomiting, rash, aches and pains.
3 dead, 1 hospitalized after plane crash in Bryan, police say
HOUSTON โ Three people died and another person was transported to the hospital after a plane crash in Bryan, officials said. One neighbor, who lives across the street and was at home when the crash happened, said she sees things all the time. Yet, Amber Craven didnโt expect to see a dismantled plane on the runway. We heard like some noise and we didnโt even pay no mind to it,โ she said. โWe heard a helicopter and we still didnโt pay no mind to it.โCraven said a family drove up and told her the plane had crashed earlier that afternoon.
Brazos County assisted living facility reports 4 coronavirus deaths
COLLEGE STATION โ Brazos County Health officials confirmed a growing number of coronavirus cases during a news conference Thursday. Ten of those cases are at The Waterford at College Station living facility, where four people have also died. Brazos County Health said the victims range in age from 80 to 91, with the most recent death occurring at the hospital. The assisted living facility said the spread of the coronavirus had forced them to implement strict disinfecting and sanitizing guidelines set by the CDC. The county health department is recommending all residents and staff members be tested.
