BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas – Professional boxer Hannah Rapp died Saturday after investigators with the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office say she was struck by a vehicle while riding her bike.
Deputies were dispatched just before 10 a.m. to the 23000 block of FM 159 for a major crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. First responders provided emergency medical care at the scene before Rapp, 26, was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Investigators said the driver, 31-year-old Charles Medina, passed two cyclists traveling along FM 159, then stopped, reversed and struck one of them. Detectives said they currently believe it was an isolated incident, but the investigation remains active as they continue gathering evidence and reviewing available information.
Medina was arrested and charged with manslaughter and taken to the Brazos County Detention Center without incident, the sheriff’s office said.
Rapp turned professional in 2024 and had quickly raised her profile in the women’s featherweight division, entering this year with an 8-1-1 record, according to public boxing records.
