HOUSTON – Walmart will hold two hiring events Tuesday and Wednesday with the goal of hiring more than 150 temporary positions in 12 stores in the area impacted by Harvey.
The retailer said it is looking to hire temporary associates so that current employees impacted by the flood can focus on rebuilding their lives without worrying about their jobs.

Walmart said when the permanent associates are ready and able, they will be welcomed back.
In the meantime, the store is looking to fill positions for cashiers, sales floor associates and overnight associates.
The company expects there will be opportunities for permanent employment through these temporary positions.
The first hiring event will be held Tuesday at the Fort Bend Church at 1900 Eldridge Road in Sugar Land from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the second event will be held Wednesday at Spring Hill Suites at 20350 Northwest Freeway in Houston from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
They are hiring for Sugar Land, Missouri City, Southwest Houston, Cypress and Katy stores.
Walmart said those who would like to attend and apply for a job should just bring a government issued ID and resume if available.
