HOUSTON – Texas tops the list when it comes to starting salaries for nurses.
A new survey by personal finance website WalletHub shows some of the best and worst states for nurses in 2017.

WalletHub's analysts compared the relative attractiveness of the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 18 key metrics.
The data ranges from monthly average starting salary for nurses to health care facilities per capita to nursing job openings per capita.
Texas ranks first in starting salaries for nurses. The rating was adjusted based on the cost of living.
