HOUSTON – An armoured truck made its way around the Cypress Creek area on Tuesday, picking up people who were stranded by floodwater.
That truck picked up at least three families around Cypresswood Drive and Steubner Airline.
At least seven people have died in connection with Monday's floods, officials said.
Many believed they could wait out the water, but the rising creek forced them out of their homes.
When the Monday flooding began to subside, families thought they were in the clear. But when the creek began to rise again on Tuesday, the rescue operation picked up steam and the truck began to pick up more people.
The Precint 5 Constable's Office was running trucks, airboats and flat-bottom boats through the neighborhoods in an attempt to give people rides.
