Harris County – A Harris County man is behind bars accused of head-butting a deputy during a traffic stop.
Matthew Dean Weismantel, 37, was pulled over Wednesday morning by Harris County Precinct 4 deputies for suspected drunken driving in the 3300 block of N. Beltway 8 W.
Weismantel hit construction barrels and was found stopped in the middle of traffic, deputies said.
Deputies said Weismantel became aggressive when they tried to conduct sobriety tests. When they tried to put him in a patrol car, he head-butted an officer in the face.
Weismantel is charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop and render aid and assault on a police officer.
