Fort Bend ISD changes grading scale, removes D

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Fort Bend Independent School District is changing its grading scale for the new school year by removing the D grade.

The district said the change will apply to kindergarten through the 11th grade but will not apply to seniors because they are on a 6.0 GPA scale.

Fort Bend ISD officials said the change will benefit students when they apply to college and apply for scholarships because many school districts no longer use D in their grading systems.

Students in Fort Bend ISD return to school Tuesday.
