Midway through the 2020 season, performance has altered perception all around the NFL. Hereโ€™s a look at whoโ€™s up and whoโ€™s down:UPDALVIN COOK: While running backs have generally been devalued during this pass-happy era, Cook is showing the impact a big-play back can make. He leads the NFL with 858 yards and 12 touchdowns despite missing one game with an injury. Heโ€™s the first NFL player with at least 50 catches, 600 yards receiving and eight touchdown receptions over his first six games of a season. (AP Photo/David Zalubowski, File)The NFL has extended virtual offseason programs for teams through June 26, but no further. The remote programs have taken the place of on-site work, and some teams already have announced they are shutting those down. But on Thursday, the league said it will allow the virtual work for an additional 15 days. The first preseason game is scheduled for Aug. 6, with Dallas against Pittsburgh in the Hall of Fame game at Canton, Ohio. The NFL plans to open the regular season on time with Houston at Super Bowl champion Kansas City on Sept. 10.
