HOUSTON – An innocent man is dead after deputies said a car racing another one going nearly 100 miles per hour crashed into him Thursday. Deputies said the incident happened on Cutten Road near Cypress Creek Parkway in northwest Harris County around 6:45 p.m. Investigators say they have a good lead on the second suspect. “We got yet another death on our road,” Sean Teare with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office said. As for the other driving that was racing, Teare has this to say: “The absolute best thing that person can do is turn themselves in.”Anyone with information is urged to contact Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

HOUSTON – One man is dead and two others injured following a fiery, multi-vehicle crash in northeast Harris County Saturday night. Around 10 p.m. Saturday, Harris County deputies and firefighters responded to a report of a wreck in the 8700 block of FM 1960 E, near the intersection of FM 1960 E and Atascocita Shores Drive in northeast Houston. Upon impact, the Tundra rotated counterclockwise and came to rest in the grass in the southwest corner of the intersection. Two adult occupants in a burned Dodge Charger: male driver is deceased & female is critical. The crash remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.

VOLO, Ill. – A northern Illinois auto museum has no plan to stop displaying a Dodge Charger from the “Dukes of Hazzard” television show with the Confederate battle flag painted atop the vehicle. Statues of Confederate generals and soldiers are being taken down across the country, NASCAR has banned the flag from its races and the Confederate emblem is being removed from the Mississippi state flag. “We feel the car is part of history, and people love it,” museum director Brian Grams told the newspaper. “We’ve got people of all races and nationalities that remember the TV show and aren’t offended by it whatsoever. “If we’re going to get complaints about the General Lee being here, we’ve got much worse items over in our military building,” he said.
