North Korea says it found the remains of a South Korean drone during a search in capital Pyongyang.

Myanmar’s military government says it will draft 60,000 young men and women yearly for military service under its newly activated conscription law, with call-ups beginning after the April festival marking the country’s traditional New Year.

Myanmar’s military government has for the first time activated a decade-old conscription law that makes young men and women subject to at least two years of military service if called up, effective immediately.

Myanmar’s leader has vowed to intensify action against homegrown militia groups fighting the military-run government, saying the armed forces would “annihilate” them.

Security forces in Myanmar have arrested dozens of people to preemptively suppress plans for a nationwide strike on Tuesday, which is the one-year anniversary of the army’s seizure of power.

In contrast, security forces have used live ammunition for weeks against what have still been overwhelmingly unarmed and peaceful crowds.
