United Airlines, Mayor Turner host commemorative Juneteenth flight for Houston-area students
In observance of Juneteenth, United Airlines will host 100 students from Houston Independent School District and Aldine Independent School District at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) for a day of aviation activities.
Aldine ISD: Teacher aides who watched as special needs student attacked ‘no longer employed’ with district
The teacher aides who allegedly stood idly by while witnessing a student with autism being attacked by a fellow student at Jones Middle School are no longer employed at the school, according to Aldine ISD officials.

Klein Online students will continue to learn online and Klein On-Campus students will return to their campus. San Jacinto College - San Jacinto College will extend online learning and remote work for Wednesday, Sept. 23. Tomball ISD - Tomball ISD schools and facilities are open Wednesday, Sept. 23 and the district will operate on a normal schedule. Classes continue online.
Aldine ISD hands out laptops, hotspots ahead of virtual start to school year
HOUSTON – Like many school districts in the Houston-area, the Aldine Independent School District is going to begin the school year with virtual learning. In order to meet the needs of students in the district and bridge the digital divide, Aldine ISD officials handed out Chromebooks and hotspots to hundreds of families Monday. The drive-thru distribution event took place at Aldine High School Monday afternoon ahead of the district’s Aug. 17 start date. District officials said more than 5,000 families signed up for the event and each family got one set of devices. With such a high need among students in the district, officials say they will plan a second event to hand out devices to more students.
Aldine ISD hosts virtual town hall addressing questions on transportation, technology and health
HOUSTON – The Aldine Independent School District unveiled its reopening plans for the upcoming school year. Parents learned more about the changes in a virtual town hall hosted by the district. District administrators tackled those topics, including transportation, technology, and health and safety of students, during Thursday afternoon’s virtual presentation. After that, students will have two options: continue virtual learning or head back to the classroom for in-person instruction. Student Health & SafetyEducators said the health and safety of students is their number one priority.
New drive-thru coronavirus testing opens in Greenspoint neighborhood

Officials at the Aldine Independent School District said they are glad to see a testing site open in their area that can provide services to the families in their district. This is the seventh site being run by United Methodist Medical Center that has been opened in the area. “We know that we are testing to save lives,” Jackson-Lee said.
