Soffar was convicted in the July 1980 robbery and slaying of three people at the Fair Lanes Windfern Bowling Center on the Northwest Freeway.
While Soffar’s accomplice stole around $1,000 from the center, police say Soffar killed 17-year-old Arden Fisher; her boyfriend, 17-year-old Tommy Temple; and 25-year-old Stephen Sims, who was the assistant manager of the bowling center.
A fourth person was shot in the head, but that victim survived.
All were shot execution-style with a .357 Magnum revolver.
Soffar was arrested nearly three weeks later in League City, where he was charged with driving a stolen motorcycle. He later confessed to the slayings to police.
Soffar was 60 years old when he died.
