Man gets probation in pool death case

HOUSTON – An electrician has been sentenced to three years probation in the electrocution of a man at a west Houston hotel pool.

James Ray Pyle pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide.

He and another electrician were charged after a man was shocked and killed while swimming at the Hilton Houston Westchase hotel in 2013.

A city and state investigation revealed improper wiring to a pool light.

The other electrician was sentenced to probation in 2014.
