FBI searching for 'John Doe 29' to help with child sexual assault case

HOUSTON – The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a plea for help across the country finding an unidentified man they are calling "John Doe 29." The man may have critical information pertaining to the identity of a child sexual assault victim.

Pictures of "John Doe 29," shown with a child, were first recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in January 2008. The pictures were referred to the FBI in 2013.

The FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children enhanced the pictures and believe they contain several clues. The man is wearing a silver ring on his left ring finger and has a white, black and red shirt with a design or writing on the sleeves. The victim, believed to be a girl, is wearing blue and white Velcro Nike brand tennis shoes. And the background where the images were taken might also be a clue.

"John Doe 29" is described as a man with a tan complexion, likely between the ages of 30 and 45, with dark hair.

The FBI says there are no specific details linking the man to a particular state or region of the country. His current whereabouts are unknown.
