KATY, Texas – There is legislation against high-stakes testing making its way through the Texas Legislature and a local school district took a stance showing its support for the change on March 30.
Katy Independent School District's Board of Trustees unanimously passed a resolution calling for the state to eliminate high-stakes testing, like STAAR.

The resolution also calls for the state-required tests to be replaced with state-funded local testing that would not be considered high-stakes or have any bearing on accountability ratings.
