PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – One person is dead another person is injured after a shooting Tuesday near the Prairie View A&M University campus.
The suspect is in police custody, according to Prairie View's Twitter account.
The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. at the Brookside Meadows apartment complex at 23171 Richards Road near Wyate Chapel Road.
The injured person has been taken to a hospital by Life Flight.
The person who was killed was not currently enrolled at Prairie View, but had previously been a student. Authorities say they are working to determine if the injured person is a student.
