New Cuddlr app helps users spoon with strangers

HOUSTON – A new location-based app for iPhones helps users track down a cuddle buddy.

The creators of Cuddlr insist that the social-meeting app is solely for that—cuddling, without any pressure expectation of a relationship. Unlike "hook-up" apps like Tinder, Cuddlr is intended for strictly platonic snuggle sessions.

Here's how it works. A user loads up the app on their smartphone and finds someone to spoon with. If they approve within a 15-minute window, then both parties can message each other on where to meet up.

Potential cuddlers can see how many successful and unsuccessful cuddles other users have had in the past. Cuddlr also bans anyone who consistently uses the app improperly.
