After a huge 15-0 shut-out win over McKinney, the Prosper Lady Eagles have improved to a 7-2 district record (19-3-1overall). With an 85% win percentage, the Lady Eagles are continuing to do all that it takes to make a push towards playoffs with goals of being the best not only in their district, but the state.
5 Way-Too-Early 2021-22 Basketball Predictions
The UIL and TAPPS basketball seasons wrapped up its respective seasons last week through the weekend. Duncanville (boys), Argyle (boys), DeSoto (girls), Dallas Bishop Lynch (girls) and Fort Worth Southwest Christian (girls) all were crowned state champions over the last week. Like I did for the football season, I'm going to offer up some top-of-mind, knee-jerk predictions for the 2021-22 season - so here we go. With her continued growth and another stacked team coming back in 2021-22, Lake Dallas will be a team to be feared in 5A. The 2021-22 tournament season is going to be crazy and a welcome return to normalcy.
Griddy customers moved to other electricity providers after ERCOT boots it from Texas market
In all, Texas electricity providers failed to make more than $2.1 billion in payments that were due to ERCOT, according to another market notice Friday. Griddy passes wholesale electricity rates directly to customers, who in turn pay the company $10 a month. ERCOT said it was “working closely with PUC staff and Affected Market Participants to ensure an efficient and effective transfer of customers.” ERCOT spokesperson Leslie Sopko said she had no further details on Griddy’s customers. AdIn a message to customers that Griddy spokesperson Lauren Valdes shared with The Texas Tribune, the company said ERCOT ignored requests for emergency help and shut it down Friday. Last week, Griddy warned customers about price hikes and encouraged them to switch to other providers, according to previous reporting by The Texas Tribune.
Man charged with 5 new felonies in Iowa Trump rally shooting
McKinney is charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 15-year-old Black girl who was arguing with supporters of the president at a Trump rally, a case authorities have not detailed to the public. (Polk County Jail via AP)IOWA CITY, Iowa – Prosecutors have added five felony weapons and assault counts against a white man already charged with attempted murder for shooting into a car carrying four Black girls during a rally for President Donald Trump in Iowa. At a state government parking lot, an angry confrontation broke out between the Black teenagers and a much larger group of Trump supporters. The bullet struck the leg of a 15-year-old girl in the passenger seat who was arguing with Trump supporters through the sunroof. McKinney, an Army veteran and former Iowa National Guard member, told police that he fired in self-defense after the girls' vehicle reversed and struck a Trump supporter's pickup truck.

Their advice: don’t try to burn your tree indoors. According to the department, they were called out to a fire Saturday morning because someone tried to burn their entire tree in their fireplace. Cedar Hill Escapes with OT Win Over HeathCedar Hill 27, Rockwall-Heath 24If everything could go wrong for Cedar Hill on offense, it pretty much did. Cedar Hill had three opportunities in the fourth quarter with the game tied at 21 to end it in regulation. With the win, Cedar Hill is in the semifinals and will play Denton Guyer in at 1 p.m. Saturday at McKinney ISD Stadium.

As it stands right now, Liberty and Lebanon Trail occupy the third and fourth spots in the district standings, respectively. Both teams' last game were losses to district leader Frisco - Liberty last week; Lebanon Trail two weeks ago. Liberty likes to air things out while Lebanon Trail wants to keep things on the lower end of the scoreboard. Northwest Eaton (4-2, 2-0) vs. Keller (1-4, 0-2)4-6A is a district split between teams undefeated in district play and teams that are winless in district play.
